Cake Time

I made carrot cake cupcakes frosted in blue and yellow frosting and a cake shaped like a Swedish horse to match his rocking horse.  We gave Tate one of the cupcakes to try and he ate almost the whole thing! He also tried to share with Owen, but every time Owen got close enough to get a piece, Tate would eat it instead. Luckily Owen got his own cupcake. We are still working on sharing. :)

Party!

Even though Tate's birthday was on Thursday, we celebrated it over the long weekend so that both sets of grandparents could be here to enjoy the festivities.  In addition to grandmas and grandpas, we had about 10 people over on Saturday afternoon.  Tate's little friend Owen was the only other kid and yet the party last well after Tate went to bed at 7:30!  Tate got lots of great new toys, books and clothes including a cool rocking horse. He wasn't too interested in actually opening the presents but loved playing with the ribbon, tissue paper and of course the toys.  We all had a great time playing with the two boys and catching up with friends.  What a great reason for a party! Thanks to everyone for coming and making it such a fun time.

Owen 15 months old

1 year old

I still can't believe Tate is already a year old!  Where did this past year go?  I remember going to the hospital and almost every detail about those first few days, but some of those months in between are a total blur.
He has grown into such an active, talkative little guy; everyday he does something new that impresses us.

Hungry Hippo

Tate loves to play in the refrigerator and this morning he found himself an extra little treat.  Leftover antelope steak! This was on top of a scrambled egg, half a blueberry muffin, and some banana and orange slices!  He sure is a growing little boy.

Busy Little Bee

Here are a couple more shots from the past couple of weeks.  Tate loves to explore and is into everything.

1, 2, Cheese

I can tell when Tate's teeth are bothering him because he gnaws on the corners of his little lovey blankets.  He's never really liked a binky or nuk but I can't imagine that these blankets feel or taste very good. I guess whatever makes them feel better right?

Leader of the Monkey Tribe

Tate won't keep his hat on when we go outside but loved having Mr. Monkey on his head during breakfast.  Ian was calling him the monkey tribe leader-so fitting.  What a goofball!

Best Buds

Owen came over the other night for some supper and playing while his parents went out to dinner. Tate loves to watch Owen since Owen is walking and talking. It's so fun to watch the two boys learn to play together.

And Owen not too sure about it

Happy early birthday

Aunt Bev sent Tate's birthday present early so that he could open and enjoy all the goodies in the box. I think he loved the tissue paper the best!

Yay! A package for me!

I love Hannah Andersson!
